About Us
The Port Macquarie Men’s shed has been in rental premises in Central Road since January 2010. But the time has come for a move. Our new location, Unit 2 /227 Oxley Highway Port Macquarie, has been handed over to the committee on Friday 13th October 2023 and we begin the long process of unpacking and setting up the shed so we can begin operations again. The official Opening was on 4th December 2023 and we have received the Occupation Certificate and can start setting up walls, putting up shelves. We have been able to resume normal operations. We are now open Monday to Thursdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The Shed is an updated version of the shed that has long been a part of Australian culture. We are a not for profit, non-commercial organisation that is accessible to all men and whose primary activity is the provision of a safe and friendly environment where men are able to work on meaningful projects at their own pace and in the company of other men.
A major objective is to advance the health and well-being of our members.
The Shed provides a safe and busy environment for all men from all walks of life. Our members work on community projects, specific Shed projects of their choice in their own time and where the only “must” is to observe safe working practices, all in the spirit of mate-ship.
The Shed provides a community environment where senior men and young men with special needs can come together to learn and benefit through social interaction and stimulation.
The Shed regularly completes projects for the Port Macquarie Hastings Council, Riding for the Disabled, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Base Hospital Rehabilitation Unit, North Coast Area Health Service, Green Meadows Medical Centre, Koala Hospital, Tacking Point Public School, Westport Tennis Club, Lake Cathie Garden Centre, Port Macquarie Golf Club, Taking Point Lions Club, Ford Car Club, Fire Museum, Ruins Café, Friends of the Court House, Billabong Zoo, Vinnies, Beetles Club and many more.
The Shed also caters for the general community with minimum costs for repairs and construction of furniture and toys.
The Port Macquarie Shed currently has over 63 members as at End June 2024, ranging in age from 50 to 93.
